As we mention earlier this week, the new build from Windows 10 Mobile’s insider preview arrived with worthy updates, and Lumia Icon support.
We will start with the good news first, the new universal Windows store finally made it to Windows 10 Mobile, and it’s not only the look that changed in the new store, it’s now the same store across all Windows devices, and it’s not only apps store. Microsoft has added music, movies, and TV shows to the store. However the carrier billing that Microsoft promised doesn’t made it to that build.
The new universal Office apps made it too, but only outlook, and calendar app installed by default, if you want to try word, excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote you will have to install it from the universal store.
For the Xbox gamers the new Windows 10 Mobile build get the new universal Xbox app.
The new music app gain the ability to play songs from OneDrive, and Microsoft promised a new features delivered soon through app updates.
The new video app gain the ability to play mkv videos, while the new camera app is almost identical to Lumia camera app with me features like HDR.
For known issues, the list is tall, but nothing critical like the last builds. In fact most of the issues can be solved by restarting the phone.
Other issues are that some times MMS doesn’t work correctly, and auto updates for the new store isn’t working, and if you upgraded from the previous build (10052) the insider hub won’t work.
If you decided to give it shot remember to uninstall all apps that installed on SD card, and rest Cortana to the region that phone shipped to it.
Even that this build is great improvement over the past build, but we still recommend that you don’t install it in your main device as the system still not optimized enough for daily usage.
